It is estimated that GTA 6 has already generated $630 million in revenue from pre-orders alone.

“Grand Theft Auto 6” is less than a month away from its official release date on November 19th. The open-world crime game is expected to generate billions of dollars in revenue within weeks of release. A data analytics company estimates that pre-order revenue for “Grand Theft Auto 6” has reached approximately $630 million.

According to Sensor Tower estimates, “Grand Theft Auto 6” has sold 6.45 million copies on the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X platforms before its official release (data from Insider Gaming). The game’s pre-order sales were $630 million (roughly Rs. 595 crore), company data showed.

In addition, it is estimated that 74% of pre-order sales are from the PS5 platform, and the Xbox Series S/X platform accounts for 26%. “GTA 6” on the PlayStation platform reportedly sold 4.8 million copies and earned $468 million. Sales on the Xbox platform were estimated at 1.66 million copies, with revenue of $162 million, according to the company.

Rockstar on GTA 6 Pre-orders
Developer Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two, have yet to officially disclose the number of pre-orders for GTA 6. However, during Take-Two’s fiscal year 2027 first-quarter earnings call in August, CEO Strauss Zelnick described the game’s pre-order launch as “extraordinarily strong.” In a subsequent Q&A session with investors and analysts, the executive noted that the volume of GTA 6 pre-orders is unprecedented.

In an interview with CNBC following the earnings call, Zelnick stated that GTA 6 pre-orders have “far exceeded expectations.” He also confirmed that a significant number of customers are opting for the $100 “Ultimate Edition” of the game, which is available alongside a standard $80 version.

In July, market research firm Newzoo reported that its data indicated the strongest-ever start for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) pre-orders. Within the first week of the pre-order period, the game generated approximately $180 million in digital pre-order sales across the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, and Spain. The firm further projected that, by the end of its first week on the market, the game could reach a record-breaking $3.3 billion to $5.2 billion in cumulative global sales.

Grand Theft Auto VI will arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X on November 19, 2026. Pre-orders for the game are now open on the PlayStation and Xbox stores.
